8 Week Muscle Building Program

Can you suggest a program of weight training?
Im 16, I've gone to the gym for about 8 weeks now and am looking to build muscle for rugby. I play the second row that requires great strength in your upper and lower body. Im mainly doing six repetitions and three sets of exercises over a heavyweight. Am I on track? What exercises do you suggest? And should I take protein shakes?
I would stay with series of five and three representatives to build maximum strength, I recommend the Bench Press, Squat, deadlift, clean energy to 2x per month to protein shakes are good, but try to eat your protein through diet. Use protein shakes as a supplement to your diet. Hope that helps out!
