For foods that do not have a label, you have to estimate how much carbohydrate is in it. Keeping in mind the general portions will help you estimate how much you're eating carbs. For example, some 15 grams of carbohydrate in: * a small piece of fresh fruit (4 oz) * 1 / 2 cup of canned fruit or frozen * 1 slice bread (1 oz) or (6 inch) tortilla * 1 / 2 cup oatmeal * 1 / 3 1 cup of pasta or rice crackers * 4-6 * 01.02 English muffin or hamburger bun * 1 / 2 cup of black bean or vegetable starch * 1 / 4 of a baked potato large (3 oz) * 2 / 3 cup nonfat yogurt plain or sweetened with sugar substitutes * 2 small cookies inch square brownie or cake without coverage * 1 / 2 cup of ice cream or ice cream * 2 * 1 tablespoon of syrup, jams, jellies, sugar or honey * 2 tablespoons tablespoon light syrup * 6 chicken nuggets * 1 / 2 cup pot of soup * 1 cup * 1 / 4 portion of a medium French fry
