By duration burns more calories than walking
Many people believe that the use of walking or running to lose weight is basically the same because claim that they both burn the same number of calories per mile. However, this is simply not true.
This belief is probably lower hope that the sentence, because walking is much easier than running.
Do they really believe that walking 3 miles steady could burn the same energy and same number of calories that a run three miles intestines burst? It simply makes no sense.
OA theory behind this reasoning is that if you run or walk a mile you're still carrying the same weight the same distance that results in your body using the same energy.
Therefore you must burn the same number of calories that you are using walking or running to lose weight, right. Wrong!
When walking, your center of gravity remains at a fairly constant height above the ground. In other words you walk fairly well with little upward or downward movement.
When executed, the center of gravity varies much more. You have to lift your weight and push yourself off the ground, and when you lower your body as the earth bend your knees to absorb the shock.
It takes energy to keep pushing it into the air like this and that is why the number of calories burned is greater running than walking.
This explanation clearly shows that the calories burned running or walking depends on the horizontal distance you move further away vertical, rather than just the horizontal distance alone.
The following equations can be used to calculate the number of calories burned and running walking, as adapted from "Energy Expenditure of walking and running" ("Medicine & Science in Sport & Exercise," December, 2004).
In this study the researchers measured the calories burned during running and walking 1,600 meters (about a mile) on a treadmill for 12 men and 12 women. The average performance of calories burned was 124 for men with 88 calories burned walking. The women burned 105 calories and 74.
The men burned more calories than women because they had an average heavy weight.
Operation
Gross burning calories per mile = 1.65 x Weight (kg)
Net burning calories per mile = 1.39 x weight (kg)
Or
Gross burning calories per mile = 0.75 x weight (kg)
Net burning calories per mile = 0.63 x weight (kg)
Walk
Gross burning calories per mile = 1.17 x weight (kg)
Net burning calories per mile = 0.66 x weight (kg)
Or
Gross burning calories per mile = 0.53 x weight (kg)
Net burn calories per mile = 0.30 x weight (kg)
As well as burning more calories, running also has other advantages over the walk. For example, why a hard way to exercise your fitness will improve much faster, which means that their ability to burn calories also increases.
In other words, you can add more exercise to a level much higher quality and therefore it becomes easier for you to burn calories and lose weight.
Running is also a form of exercise faster than walking, which means that you can cover the same distance, saving much time. Or you can run for the same time you normally walk, and therefore cover more distance and burn more calories.
Now you know why to use running to lose weight is much more effective than walking why not take advantage of this and make running a part of your life.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with walking to burn calories and help along the way but it just makes more sense to focus most of their efforts and runtime using to lose weight.
