I'm looking for some basic exercises to burn fat / calories in the stomach area. I have to be able to do it inside with no machine. so something like crunches and push ups.

I'm with those answers who say that reducing the target area is not realistic. (You can not do sit-ups and burn fat around the middle.) There are four ingredients that go into lose weight. Proper nutrition, resistance training (weight training total body), cardio / interval training (to burn fat), and ab exercises to make the muscles pop. There are three exercises that combine the latest in several ways. Compound exercises can offer ways to make more than a working muscle group. Example: A front squat with dumbbells for an Arnold press. (You have to look up to for illustration.) This exercise works the legs and shoulders, but also employs core muscles (abs and back) to stabilize his form. But, unfortunately, is not just a repair easy. Hope that helps. Be well.
