Fat Burn Vs Cardio
Intensity cardio cardio Vs Distance
When it comes to doing cardio exercises, there are two basic methods you can use – LSD and HIIT.
LSD = long slow distance. A perfect example is jogging for a few miles.
HIIT = High Intensity Interval Training. A perfect example is race.
HIIT and LSD are on complete opposite ends of the cardiovascular continuum due to simple design. LSD is long, but very slow. HIIT is short, but very fast.
Well, intensity and duration, that relate to your cardio workouts, have an inverse relationship. The most intense work (ie – the faster you go), the shorter duration has to be. In contrast, the slower you go, you need to go to a longer duration to compensate.
Simply put – you can run hard or long you can run but you can not do both. Nobody can run a marathon …
HIIT became increasingly popular in recent years, and considered more productive than LSD. Not going into all sutff scientific here, but here is the gist of what you need to know:
HIIT is anaerobic, aerobic LSD is
LSD-training results in increased aerobic capacity, with little or no effect on the anaerobic capacity
-HIIT on the other hand, results in an increase in anaerobic capacity and increased aerobic capacity
LSD-burns more calories HIIT during the exercise itself
HIIT keeps oo metabolism "accelerated" so that you continue to burn calories hours after exercise is more
There are other things we could talk, but these are the main points.
So in light of the foregoing, HIIT seems to be the superior form of cardio.
Seems to give more benefits, better burn fat, not take so long … but still, people are still making bad earnings HIIT. Mediocre at best.
Why? It's simple, really – most people do not do your HIIT cardio exercises correctly.
HIIT, by definition, is supposed to be intense – so intense as possible. In the proverbial scale of 1-10, you need to be pushing a 11 or more. And many times, interns do not do that when they do HIIT. They think they're doing everything and they could be, but rather that 11 or more, maybe they are only putting in an effort to 8 or so. That does not cut it when it comes to doing cardio HIIT.
Remember when I said you can run hard, or long term, but not Both? Well, on the other hand, if you run short and easy, you're making the worst of both worlds. And as effective as HIIT can be, if not done with the proper intensity, you're falling into this trap. You have to be pushing as hard as you can physically.
Train Hard, Rest Hard, Play Hard.
