Interval training is best for weight loss?

I already asked me if it's better than normal exercise … but I wonder whether it is more efficient if you want to lose weight without bulking up … I do it on my stationary bike, down the road. Before I did 45 minutes of cycling in solid the same speed, same strength. Now I go faster, slower, moderate change of resistance for 45 minutes … and boy did I feel the sweat.
