How many calories should I be eating per day?
I used an online BMR calculator and discovered that I have to eat about 1,500 calories a day to keep my weight without exercise. (This is also how many calories your body will burn for days if I laid in bed all day and did nothing.) Well, I was aiming to 1,500 calories, but I always go over !!!!! I'm always so hungry! See, I play hockey, and usually have two hours of practice about 5 days per week. Moreover, I have a very muscular build, and I heard that the muscles need more calories? I am also 15 years (still growing, I think?) and heard that teenagers as the growing need of 2,000 calories. But I'm also trying to lose some weight, then how many calories should I consume per day? But if I reduce my caloric intake to just 1,000 calories a day, would not be good. My doctor told me to eat 1200 calories a day is not healthy or productive for adolescents, especially females. I'm still confused?
To lose weight you must burn more calories than what you eat. Take what you normally eat and cut it by 500 calories. You can prevent overeating by eating foods rich in fiber that keeps you full longer. For breakfast objective high-fiber foods. Eat five small meals a day instead of three big ones.
