Will effect my cardio fitness?

I started lifting weights and I have muscles, but does not show how I want it because I'm overweight. Then I thought of a healthy diet, but there seems to be working out, so to help me lose fat I was thinking of doing cardio three days a week 30 minutes after my workout weight lifting. (I lift for about two hours). Go slow or do cardio effect my muscles in any negative way? Also think would help me get more cut?
