Most of us who do weight training or weight lifting are doing this to get bigger and stronger. If this is you, then you may find it interesting.
After seeing a number of people working in gyms, have spoken with several friends and colleagues who train with weights, and have seen a lot of posts in various forums, bodybuilding, I have some bad news for you;
You are going the wrong way!
It seems that most people who do weight training not have a clear idea of what your goal is, or how to achieve it judging by what they get up when they work out, because most of the routines they are using is simply wrong.
This explains why they are wasting your time doing flyes or dumbbell bicep curls, tricep kickbacks or, or preacher curls or hammer curls, or any other exercise like them.
The fundamental truth is that ignoring all is this:
The fastest way to get bigger and stronger is to build the biggest and most strong muscles of the body.
That all the above movements have in common is that they target smaller muscle groups of the body. You will never build any size or significant force if you spend time doing some isolation movements.
I'm not saying that all the isolation movements are a waste of time, but I am saying that the vast majority of them are. (There are some essential exercises in isolation, but that's a topic for another article.)
I've lost count of how many people I see in gyms doing some sort of bicep curl. The biceps muscle is only about a third of the muscle mass arm.
The triceps is at least greater than the biceps. But it is by no means a large muscle of the body.
If you concentrate on the construction of the largest muscles in your body which is the absolute fastest way for you to gain size, muscle strength and body weight. Another benefit are you going to have to build bigger muscles makes the smaller muscles (such as the bicep, tricep, etc), much more sensitive to weight training exercises.
The major muscles of the body are the leg muscles, for example, quadriceps and glutes. Dumbbell flyes mentioned above. These affect mainly the pectoral muscles, but again, the CPE is not as great as any of the major leg muscles, or as large as the lat muscles, let the trapezius muscle in (Wing-shaped muscle in the middle of the back).
I think the reason many people focus on building big biceps or pectorals is because they are more showy muscles. But the fastest way to build great bisexual and CPE is to build up the major muscle groups first, then his pecs and bi's will be more sensitive to weight training.
This is why compound exercises are so great, that address the major muscle groups.
For example, targets squat all the major muscles of the legs, and back muscles.
The dead lift targets all major muscle groups. If I said I could only do weight training would be a dead lift.
For the upper body, the chin is often known as the upper body "squat", which gives an idea of how effective it is in the construction of the back muscles important.
The bench is great for building the front of the upper body muscles, including your pecs and triceps, which is two thirds of its mass arm.
So when you plan their next routine of weight training, ask yourself how many major muscle groups are actually with your selection of segmentation exercise.
